Battle of The Crab buffet, held by Spice Brasserie at PARKROYAL on Kitchener Road, is back again for the third time but it is much bigger and better this time round.

Other than the usual must-have crab dishes in Singapore (ie. Chilli Crab, Black Pepper Crab), Executive Chef Low has prepared a new addition to the crustacean buffet: LOBSTERS!!

The Union of Crabs and Lobsters Dinner Buffet will be running till 3 September 2016, on every Thursday to Saturday night. Prices are at $78 for adults, and $34 for children. Scroll down further to the new dishes added to the buffet menu, as well as special promotions to be enjoyed by UOB, DBS/POSB, Maybank & HSBC cardholders.

Truffle Lobster with Marinated Jellyfish Salad appetiser

A way to start off the buffet course would be with this exotic Truffle Lobster with Marinated Jellyfish Salad appetiser. The refreshing starter combines the sweetness of the lobster meat, silkiness of the jellyfish and a tinge of Truffle flavour.

Steamed ‘Live’ Boston Lobster in Chinese Wine

Headlining the show is the Steamed ‘Live’ Boston Lobster in Chinese Wine, cooked a la minute to retain the succulent and sweet freshness of the flesh.

This is one of my favourite dishes on the menu as the Chinese wine muted any fishy smell that comes with steamed seafood, and it also placed great emphasis to the succulent flavour of the Boston Lobster.

Crustacean Paella
Crustacean Paella

I haven't found a Paella that impresses me and unfortunately this Paella wasn't the one to break the trend. I found the rice to be a tad dry and tasteless, the prawns however were incredibly fresh and cooked to perfection. The chef had duly noted our feedback and hopefully the recipe has been tweaked since my tasting.

Lobster Inari Sushi

Most of the Lobster Sushi that I have had came in the form of Gunkan, and so receiving one Inari style was a pleasant surprise. I like the sweet flavour of the tofu skin combined with the famous Japanese sticky pearl rice, topped with some lobster salad and tobiko.

Flame-grilled Lobster Mentaiko

One of the must-try dishes would be this crowd-favourite Flame-grilled Lobster Mentaiko is definitely the dish that cannot be missed.

Topped with Cheese on a Fresh lobster meat and covered with Mentaiko sauce, this dish brings out a rich yet smoky flavour that patrons could not get enough of.

Lobster Noodle Soup
Lobster Noodle Soup

When at a buffet, we usually skip the carb-heavy dishes in an attempt to leave more space for other food. In this scenario I have to HIGHLY RECOMMEND their Lobster Noodle Soup as it is probably the best noodle soup that I have ever tried in my life.

The soup broth was savoury and flavourful with a tinge of white pepper spice, and it complemented amazingly well with the yellow noodles and fresh lobsters.

Lobster Wellington

I had great expectations for this but was greatly disappointed. The lobster filling had too much flour added to it, and it tasted more like a fishcake. The pastry, on the other hand, was crispy and flaky – just the way I like my pastry to be – and had a beautiful egg-wash.

Tandoori Crayfish
Tandoori Crayfish

This dish is spicy and not for the faint-hearted. The tandoori crayfish is well-seasoned with curry spices and the slow grilling gives a smoky flavour to the crustacean.
